A museum

Noriko and I saw my younger brother in Tokyo, who is now working as a prosecutor there.
After that meeting, we went to the museum of ... parasitic insects. They say it is the only that kind of museum in the world, although I am not sure.
I chose the time after lunch, not before the lunch, due to the theme of the museum, and... it appeared to be a wise decision.

hydrangea and Kamakura

We went to a temple, named "Meigetsu-in", located in Kamakura, western area to Tokyo. It is famous for beautiful and the huge number of hydrangea, which is currently in full bloom.


We also could see a small bamboo grove. A perfectly beautiful, Japanese style garden...


Kamakura used to be a capital, and has a lot of temples. The following picture is that of another temple, "Cho-mei-ji."

At another shrine, we happend to see a bridal ceremony held in Shinto style. Brides are always beautiful, but this birde dressed in a white looked so beautiful.

Kamakura is close to the sea. It must get much much more crowded in coming summer season. Even at that day, in early June, we saw lots of people enoying the bath in the sun.

1st wedding aniversary

We, Noriko and I, celebrated our 1st wedding aniversary on 6/8.

We have some more special days in June... Father's day, which everybody has in the same time, my mother's birthday, and Noriko's birthday. Well... I hope somebody move at least Father's day to another month. Say, how about November? I can expect some more budget for it in Novemebr than in busy June.

Class of 2009!

We had a kind of celebrating party with admitted Japanese studnets the last day. Yes, they are supposed to be a part of class of 2009!

They are wonderful guys... we, three Japanese 2008s, Yoshi, Aki and me, were so excited to have chat with them. They are so worried about the setting-up their lives in the States and coming new and another lives there. I can realize their anxiety quite easily, recalling my situation one year ago. We should keep surporting them.

The first lunch I had here in Japan was "Ramen", a bowl of Chinese noodle soup. This is one served in a pretty famous restaurant in Kansai area. The restraunt's name is "Tenka-Ippin", which means "the best one around the world." I had this so often when I was an undergrad student in Kyoto... Somebody said that their dish must include some substance, which forces us to visit the shop with the interval shorter than one month. $5.50. Even in NY, it is not easy to have nice bowl of Ramen.

We need fish dish... I found again it so easy here to get fresh and nice fish. Because I currently live separately from my wife (she is at her parents' place), I cooked my dinner, and this was the first dinner I had here in my new place. Oh, no, no, this is the picture of my lunch. Because I had almost same menu for today's lunch and dinner, it was difficult to tell if this is lunch or dinner...

Sushi!!
I could have some nice Sushi even in the States, but... I believe that Japan is the best place to have nice and less expensive sushi (although this restaurant was a little bit expensive).

Anago (left bottom) is one of my favorite. In English... sea eel? I don't think I would have chance to use this word for ordering purpose in the future.

My new place. This is my first experience to live in Tokyo area (correctly speaking, I live in Chiba pref, which is next to the capital Tokyo). So small, but... every requisite is inside. I was really surprised at that. I have 2 small rooms (a bedroom shown in the picture and smaller living room) and a small kitchen. Now I understand why Japanese houses are called rabbit hutch, but this is not too small for me to live. Sometimes relatively smaller body can be better than having bigger one.

Visit to shrine

I visited Yasaka shrine, famous shrine located in east Kyoto, as new years visit. I made a wish to God in shinto religion.
